Filevine
Case and document management. MedChron classifies records already in the project, builds an in-app timeline, and talks to LOIS. Useful if the firm already lives in Filevine and pays for Expert.
CaseMark vs Filevine MedChron
Filevine is a case-management platform. MedChron — their medical chronology — sits in LOIS Expert, billed per project on top of seats. If the job in front of you is an IME packet or a treating-record timeline, you do not need to renew a legal operating system to get it.
$25 + $0.01/page.
Never more than $100.Up to 25,000 pages. Ready in about 20 minutes. PDF and Word, every entry cited to the page.
Keep Filevine for matters if it still fits. Buy the chronology as work product.

A fair comparison
Case and document management. MedChron classifies records already in the project, builds an in-app timeline, and talks to LOIS. Useful if the firm already lives in Filevine and pays for Expert.
MedChron is not in the base plan. Filevine’s own product specifications put Chronologies (MedChron) in LOIS Expert only. Base AI is 3 chats per user per month. LOIS Assistant, Advanced, and Expert are billed per project with an annual minimum, and unused projects do not roll over. LOIS Contracts and Government pool 200 pages per active project, with overage at the then-current rate. Filevine pricing is “custom built.” There is no public chronology price.
The chronology is the product. Upload the record set. Get a cited timeline you can export and hand to the IME, the adjuster, or the file. No seat minimum. No Expert tier. No implementation partner.
Independent medical exams
Independent medical exams live or die on the treating record. Someone still has to:
Filevine pitches MedChron as clinical decision intelligence inside the project. That is a real job if the records are already in Filevine and Expert is already paid. It is a poor reason to accept a renewal quote when what you need this week is a cited chronology of this record set.
You review it. It does not replace your judgment. CaseMark builds the record timeline the IME should be based on; it does not schedule exams, choose examiners, or write the IME report.
Send us the chronology your team already trusts: the columns, headings, order, and level of detail. We build it into CaseMark once. After that, every record set comes back in your format, with a page citation on every entry.
Pre-exam record reviews in the layout your physicians already work from, so every examiner gets the same packet on every referral.
Your firm’s chronology template for PI, med-mal, or workers’ comp, produced the same way on every matter by anyone on the team.
Send a chronology you have already delivered or the template you use. We match its structure, terminology, and level of detail.
Your format becomes a chronology option in your CaseMark account.
Upload the records and choose your format. The same layout every time, ready to review.
Source citations, record Q&A, and InsightPass are included with your format, as with every CaseMark chronology.

Honest scope
The firm already runs PI in Filevine, the records are already in the project, Expert is already paid, and the chronology needs to live next to tasks, bills, and LOIS chat without leaving the CMS.
The job is the chronology or the IME packet; Expert is the line item on a renewal you do not want; you are not on Filevine; or you are on Filevine and still do not want chronology quality and price tied to a CMS contract.
Replace Filevine as a case-management system, migrate matters, run intake or lead management, or guarantee a legal outcome.
